CAREER AND SALARIES IN THE I.T. FIELD IN THE USA
The Information Technology (IT) field is very attractive to Brazilian professionals who wish to live in the USA. In addition to the high demand for professionals, they are well-paid and valued in the American market.
There is a significant shortage of IT professionals and other areas in the American job market, both in quantity and quality. To attract candidates and retain talent, companies and states are increasingly offering extra benefits and cash incentives.
Among the areas with the highest demand for professionals are California, with Silicon Valley, which has become a reference in technology and a synonym for innovation, Miami, which has attracted large companies in the field with lower taxes, sunny weather, and has been called Silicon Beach, in comparison to Silicon Valley, and Texas.
One of the advantages for IT professionals is that they do not need to revalidate their diploma to work in the USA. Generally, courses and certificates obtained in Brazil are already valid in the American job market.
In the D4U Cast, Wagner Pontes, founder of the D4U USA Group, and Paula Kasparian, the group’s communication director, talk about careers and salaries in the IT field. They compare the salaries of IT workers in Brazil and the USA, such as a Computer Science professional. The starting annual salary in the USA is $169,000 and in Brazil, R$96,000.
Wagner and Paula also discuss the EB2-NIW as a path for this professional to fulfill the dream of living and working in the USA with a Green Card. If you want to know more about this topic, watch the full video:
